Don’t Use Your Inside Thoughts!

This body of work was displayed as Ruffin Hall, Charlottesville as my undergraduate thesis. Each piece embodies the woman and all that she experiences. It is also a peer into my mind and how I think about my position as a woman. There is uncertainty and anxiety behind each stroke, but there is also a sense of resolution and confidence. Moreover, there is a sense of urgency with each stroke, solidifying the sentiment of fluidity in expectations. These pieces are not supposed to be idle — they have a need for movement.
